Hi, I'm Rashid Migadde
Software Engineer. WordPress Developer. Generative AI Practitioner.
I’m a software engineer in Kampala and have been building for the web since 2019. I’ve built and rescued 60+ WordPress and WooCommerce sites, and I also work with Wagtail CMS and Django (Python), Laravel, Node.js and Flutter, deploying to AWS, Google Cloud, Azure and WordPress Cloud. Generative AI is a core skill: I use Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT and Cursor every day to build faster, and I help teams adopt AI responsibly. I speak at WordCamps across Uganda and care about helping more Ugandan businesses get online the right way.
This site is also my lab. I use it to test what I teach — performance, security, SEO and good design — on a real site with real traffic.

Where it started
My journey as a software engineer began in 2019, in the first semester of my second year at campus. I started out as a freelancer on task-based projects, learning something new with each one.
2022
Graduated
I graduated in 2022, a little later than planned because of COVID-19, with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and IT.
2019 – present
60+ websites and counting
I’ve built more than 60 websites, supported a range of systems, and created custom plugins and themes. Some are public; others are private builds for clients.
2026
Leading with generative AI
In 2026 I began my journey as a generative AI leader, learning how large language models work and how AI has evolved from traditional to generative. AI is part of my everyday work and development, with Gemini, Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT.
